Better tasting and healthier functional foods
Progel has developed a method to process functional food actives such as probiotics, omega-3s, vitamins and minerals so they have improved health benefits without affecting the taste of the foods they are added to. This will enable the creation of new functional food products like multi-strain probiotic milk and juice. These products have not been possible to date as the probiotics make the milk and juice taste sour. Commercialisation Australia funding will be used to develop the new prototype functional food products by Progel in partnership with food and ingredient manufacturers who will be evaluating the technology for commercial viability.
