100 gigabit-per-second optical OFDM transceiver demonstration

Ofidium is developing 100 Gbit/s optical transceiver modules, based on unique and patented optical orthogonal frequency-division-multiplexing (oOFDM) technology, for sale to telecommunications equipment manufacturers. This project involves the development, field testing and customer validation of the design for product prototype. On completion, Ofidium will have a prototype design ready for manufacture and sale. 

The Ofidium technology reduces communications equipment cost and increases port density by a factor of four. Following a successful feasibility demonstration, Ofidium is now in detailed discussions with tier-one equipment manufacturers.

Ofidium believes that Commercialisation Australia’s assistance has helped them rapidly progress the development of their technology.
