Commercial fisheries electronic logbook and vessel management

CatchLog Trading Pty Ltd has made two successful applications for Commercialisation Australia support:  an initial Skills and Knowledge grant, and subsequent Proof of Concept and Experienced Executive grants.

With support from Commercialisation Australia through a Skills and Knowledge grant, the CatchLog project will commercialise locally and internationally an onboard software program for commercial fishing vessels.  The program combines vessel management applications and an electronic logbook reporting system in a single product. It delivers real time data direct to key fisheries stakeholders and management authorities. The program greatly reduces the paper compliance workload, improves vessel management and promotes sustainable fisheries management.

Proof of Concept and Experienced Executive funding from Commercialisation Australia will enable CatchLog Trading Pty Ltd to engage a Marketing Executive to develop strategic market entry and engagement, specifically targeting the Australian and UK commercial fishing industries. The Marketing Executive will provide professional marketing advice in market research, planning, advertising, public relations, promotional events, product development, networking, distribution and sponsorship. With the assistance of the Marketing Executive, CatchLog will implement and fast track a marketing strategy, aiming to increase and engage new potential customers across the UK and Australia. Through strategic marketing, CatchLog will rapidly increase new customer sales and develop brand awareness, which will significantly assist in the realising of the full commercial potential of the product.
