Ms Jan Bingley is the General Manager, IP, Licensing and Technology Transfer at CSIRO.
CSIRO’s IP, Licensing and Technology Transfer group has a specific mandate to identify and develop IP with commercial potential and collaborate closely with industry partners and venture investors to maximise the uptake of the technology. In the six years since the group was formed, CSIRO has spun out 287 companies based on its IP, employing about 500 people and with a market capitalisation of close to $1 billion.
Prior to joining CSIRO Ms Bingley was a Director and Principal of Universal Carbon Exchange Pty Ltd and a Senior Project Manager with Sydney Futures Exchange Ltd. Her early career was in finance and accounting.
Ms Bingley has been a board member of a number of CSIRO start-ups including Windlab Systems Pty Ltd and Carbon Energy Pty Ltd. She holds a degree in Accounting from Charles Sturt University and a Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
