Rob has over 15 years commercialisation experience in the biotech sector and is currently Managing Director of Concept2Clinic Consulting, offering strategic and business development advice to biotech companies in Australia and regional assistance to US-based companies.
Previously as Head of Melbourne Operations for Arana Therapeutics, Rob played a key role in Arana's success, from its start up stage as EvoGenix, through its acquisition of US-based Absalus, its IPO on the ASX in 2005 and merger with fellow Australian company Peptech to form Arana in 2007, culminating in Arana's A$318M acquisition by Cephalon in 2009.
With significant deal making experience he was key to securing an alliance managing many of Arana’s key partnership deals with companies such as CSL Limited and GSK.
Rob also has knowledge of the UK biotechnology sector, helping transition Cobra Therapeutics, a gene therapy start-up company, into ML Laboratories PLC.
Rob has an academic background in genetics from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, a PhD in molecular oncology from The University of Glasgow, and post-doctoral experience from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas.
